March PTA meeting

Please join us Thursday, March 13 for our PTA meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. in the school library. Our sixth grade team and guidance counselor will discuss what lies ahead for our fifth graders as they transition to middle school in the fall. Also on the agenda are reports from our principal and the PTA treasurer, in addition to any new business to be discussed.

Literacy Night

Woodburn’s first annual Literacy Night will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This year’s theme is Daily Five Comes Alive. Our goal is to provide interactive literacy experiences and activities for parents and students centered around the activities students do everyday in language arts.

Each participant will receive a passport and will visit activities for each part of the Daily Five. Word Work and Work on Writing will be in grade-level classrooms. Read to Someone will be in the gym. Listen to Reading will be in the multipurpose room.  Digital Literacy will be shared in the library.  Hallway displays will provide further information about language arts and the Daily Five.

We invite everyone to join us for an exciting event focused on literacy!
