Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year at Woodburn!

Dear Woodburn Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am honored to serve as your PTA President alongside a dedicated PTA Board, parent volunteers, wonderful teachers, and school leadership, Ms. Richman and Ms. Louder.

The PTA board and committees have been busy this summer planning events and activities for the school year. Please visit the Woodburn PTA website to check out our calendar of events and sign up for membership.

As we begin the year, we ask for your support so that we can continue creating opportunities for students and staff. Your time and money help provide support to teachers and staff (e.g., classroom grants, teacher appreciation, CETA continuing education, and a plan for an updated teacher’s lounge); student enrichment (e.g., field trips, outdoor classroom, after school activities, and clubs); and social and community events (e.g., outdoor movie night, fun run, spring dance, gingerbread houses).

The PTA has already been active—welcoming teachers and staff back with breakfast and thanking (orchid delivery!), our school leadership, the front office staff, custodians, and clinic staff for working to make lunchtime safe by creating more space outdoors to eat.

For our PTA to be effective, everyone’s participation is essential. There are numerous ways you can help—first, become a member! Second, watch our website for volunteer activities or reach out to a member of our board to see how you can get involved. Volunteering will enable you to get to know our students, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that make a difference. If you don’t have time to volunteer, WE understand.  You can support the PTA by making a contribution to our direct donation campaign.

Have a wonderful school year, and know that we are happy that you are part of the Woodburn Community.

With gratitude for all you do,

Mary Cunningham, President
Woodburn PTA
