Hidden Oaks Nature Center is partnering with the PTA and school and hosting free field trips to Woodburn families twice a week, Mondays at 2:00 pm and Thursdays at 5:30 pm. The events will take place at the nature center’s amphitheater and will be planned around each grade level’s SOL’s.

There are limited slots available.

Each registration can have up to 3 people or 4 if a child is sitting on their parent’s lap. Each group must be able to sit close together.

Please remember to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. Please cancel if anyone in the family shows any signs of illness.

Remember to dress for the weather because the event will be outside.

In August, the Woodburn PTA applied for and won a $5,000 grant from the National PTA, sponsored by Tik Tok.  The PTA board made the decision to focus on the social and emotional health of Woodburn students.  Activities paid for by the grant will help them engage in mindfulness activities and get outside as much as possible. The grant will help support the following:

• A shade sail in the outdoor classroom
  • A new collaboration with Love and Carrots to install drip irrigation and a fall and spring vegetable garden
  • Grow at Home kits
  • A Little Library at Woodburn
  • A virtual enrichment series featuring artists, writers, farmers, and scientists.
  • Trips to Hidden Oaks Nature Centers for nature seminars
