Welcome to the 2018-19 School Year!

Dear Woodburn Families,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I am honored to serve as your PTA President alongside a dedicated PTA Executive Board, parent volunteers, wonderful teachers, and our new principal, Ms. Katy Richman. The PTA board has been busy this summer planning events and activities for the school year. Please visit the Woodburn PTA website to stay up to date on events, learn about the PTA, purchase Spiritwear, sign up for membership, and more. Our website will be our main hub for communication this year as well as the Wildcat Weekly on Thursdays.

As we begin the year, we ask for your support so that we can continue creating opportunities for students and staff. Your support helps purchase classroom supplies, provides field trips and assemblies, maintains our Changing Education Through the Arts (CETA) membership, and enables enrichment programs for all Woodburn students. Our goal is to bridge the gap between county funding and what our kids and educators need to thrive in school.

For our PTA to be effective, everyone’s participation is essential. There are numerous ways you can help—watch our website for volunteer activities or reach out to a member of our board to see how you can get involved. Volunteering will enable you to get to know our students, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that make a difference. Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. We promise that the time you give to the PTA and the school will be worthwhile—and fun! Please consider volunteering -it makes a difference in the lives of all our students.

On behalf of the entire PTA Executive Board, I would like to thank you in advance for your support. Have a wonderful school year, and know that we are happy that you are part of the Woodburn Community.

Sincerely,
Laura Wright
Woodburn PTA President
